Earlier today, a bomb threat was called in and a "suspicious device" discovered in Leichtag Biomedical Building. The campus experienced minor excitement for two hours due to an overload of caution tape and trucks with big antennae-thingies lining Library Walk.

The Fires Blaze On, School Canceled Tuesday
Wildfires are currently still raging all around San Diego county, as seen on this Google Map. From UCSD we can hear constant sirens, and parts of Mira Mesa, which is about 15 minutes from campus and home to many students, are being evacuated. The dean has supposedly instructed RAs to take head counts of all on-campus students.

It's Snowing Ash!
Reporting live from  the Middle of Muir: It's snowing ash all across San Diego. At about 2:20 p.m., a burning smell and a yellowy haze settled on campus.

We figured that the the Malibu fire was just a tad far for its ash to make a guest appearance all the way here and we were right: apparently there are about four big fires all around San Dieg...
