At an SA assembly about last week's poster controversy, students convened to discuss a solution to intolerance on campus. Students also spoke out about the upcoming "Islamo-fascism awareness week" calling it "intolerable."

Deadly Popcorn Fumes Researched at GW

Remember that "deadly popcorn" story back in September?

Turns out GW was behind this staggering breakthrough in popcorn research:

"The main component in butter flavored popcorn, diacetyl, causes "deadly, irreversible lung disease," said David Michaels, a research professor of environmental occupational health."

Kid One: (pointing) That's the kid I hit in the head with the dildo last year! Apparently you could do anything to him as long as you said you were in his CI group.

GW Students Open Homeless Shelter On Campus

"While these cases have been solved, we still need people to adhere to the following Crime Prevention principles:

(1) Residents need to lock their doors when they are away from their rooms, and it is also recommended that residents keep the doors to their room/suite locked when they are inside the room (especially when they are asleep).

(2) If any unauthorized person enters your room when you are there, regardless of the "story" that he/she provides to you, contact UPD immediately and report the suspicious person. Provide UPD with a detailed description of the person, including what they are wearing. We will respond and verify their reason for being in the building.

(3) Do not allow individuals who you do not know to be residents of the building to enter into a residence hall (or any other secured building) behind you.

(4) Do not allow someone to remain alone in your room/suite if you do not know the person."

I really dont think anything too offensive towards the homeless was said here, and the fact remains that ANYONE who doesnt belong in the building (not a student or a guest) should not be in the building, its a matter of safety and security. And I think the source of "JBKO HOUSE PROCTORS" is pretty explicitly mentioned in the post, maybe you forgot to read that. If someone doesn't want their name in the post, I'm not gonna put it there, but that doesn't mean this person didn't actually say what he/she said.

Apparently this happened AGAIN in another dorm (Ivory?) and a student was harassed to the point where she had to call the police.

And again, I encouraged donating to shelters instead of offering the homes of GW students to people who dont belong there. By swiping someone into the building that you are not willing to take responsibility for you are risking the safety and security of hundreds of people without their knowing. Posted 09/12/2007 08:09 AM
