School's out = Summertime = Party!
By Calypso (05/12/2008 11:33 AM) So, school is out and what's left to do? Party, of course! On a regular night on the town, I had the pleasure of witnessing some odd kind of dancing. I'm not sure it can be called dancing really... more like humping on the dance floor. Party on!
Who let the dawgs out?
By Calypso (05/12/2008 11:09 AM) All around Athens, you can find statues of our mascot, UGA, in various costumes. He's been a samba dancer, a pilot, a frog, and even had a stint as Elvis!
No Trespassing!
By Calypso (05/12/2008 10:58 AM) The Athens Line railroad company has blocked the path to campus from Rivermill Apartments. Students living here have always crossed freely over the tracks, but now they face legal consequences, if caught. Plus, climbing over that train is a pain!
Polly want a cracker?
By Calypso (05/03/2008 8:17 PM) So there's this Blue McCaw that's always hanging out at the local Starbucks. He's 10 years old and beautiful. Apparently, if his owner leaves for a bit, the bird stays put until he returns. He talks too, but he didn't want to show off for me.
Studying is for pimps (and hot chicks)!
By Calypso (05/03/2008 7:27 PM) During finals, you'll still find students cramming the Student Learning Center, more commonly known as the SLC. Students fight for private study rooms and oftentimes stay the whole night, order food, and write interesting messages on the windows.
Peace, Love, and Happiness
By Calypso (05/03/2008 7:04 PM) Today and tomorrow in Downtown Athens, people can enjoy the music and activities of the 30th Annual Human Rights Festival. There's the battle of the bands, face painting, sidewalk chalk, and plenty of good causes to support! Peace.

Good Show for a Good Cause
By Calypso (04/24/2008 10:04 AM) Modern Skirts, a band from Athens, is playing on Friday at 40 Watt, the place to get your groove on. They will be donating $1 from every ticket to GLOBAL ENDEAVORS. It'll be a good show and it's for a good cause; so, if you're in the area, you should go!
