Chicago Cops to 'Pose as Pedestrians'

The Chicago Tribune reported yesterday that Chicago police will be 'posing a pedestrians' and giving citations drivers who don't give them the right of way. As much as I find hilarious the idea of policemen in cognito as normal people crossing streets, it's also terrifying to realize that 'on average, almost one pedestrian is killed in a traffic collision each week in Chicago.'

Was perusing Marketplace and this is what I found. Not really as funny as it should/could be, but it gets points for its unassuming entry among the other furniture for sale, hidden in there between the IKEA desks and futons.

As part of Senior Week, I waited in line for a long time at the Pub on Senior Night in order to get one of these mugs for free. (They're supposed to be Dr. Seuss fish.) It wasn't until after receiving said mug that I realized I have no real use for it. So I guess everyone has that to look forward to. Although to be fair, I did also get a free plate of french fries and hummus.

Yes. Lollapalooza happened this past weekend in Grant Park, apparently. I think I only know like three people who went, so that video is the only exciting thing that happened that I know of. But apparently Lollapalooza was the last public appearance Amy Winehouse made before going on a three-day bender as soon as she got back to England that landed her in--get this--rehab. Hahahaha.

Summer Send-Offs are upon us. I never went to the one in my area, but I can't imagine any of the 28 send-offs across the country are any less awkward than you'd imagine, kind of like the gem of a photo above (found literally by Googling the phrase 'awkward party').
