The University of Arizona’s softball team won 8-0 against the University of Hawaii yesterday. The victory propelled the team into this week’s super regional. Pitcher Katie Burkhart’s mastery proved to be “too much firepower,” according to University of Hawaii coach Bob Coolen. The defeat meant the end of their season. ASU will host the next round of the NCAA softball tournament.
It seems like the weight of the world is on Katie Burkhart's shoulders. No matter how the Sun Devils do in the tournament though, they will always remember their bittersweet experience with Hawaii: the taste of grand victory after an embarrassing defeat. We can only guess what will happen next. Best of luck to them!
