BREAKING: Gunshot at Upper Iowa University Actually Just a Firecracker

The Upper Iowa University campus in Fayette was on lockdown for an hour this morning after reports of gunshot. A university employee reportedly heard a single shot fired on the southern part of campus and the campus was put on lockdown for the safety of students.

After looking into the matter, officials have determined that the alleged gunshot was actually just a firecracker. Someone must have confused Halloween with the Fourth of July. Happens all the time.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but safety should always come first. Also, please note that the firecracker lighting perpetrator is still out there.
