Going Home for the Holidays Not So Fun Anymore

For many college students, the holidays are not as special as they used to be. Gone are the days when excitement ran through our veins when we awoke to a tree surrounded by Christmas presents. Gone are the days when the smell of sweet potato pie and turkey made us want to sit at the dining room table with our families and enjoy the company of one another. They are just bygone memories of a past we will probably never be able to relive. I haven’t gotten a Christmas present in almost six years and I don’t like to eat turkey anymore. I only came home for the break because my friend begged me to. Don’t get me wrong; I want to see my family, just not that much. And plus, I did not want to pay for the gas.

Ever since becoming an adult, I’ve noticed a lot of people my age losing interest in going home for holiday breaks. The draw holidays used to have just aren’t there anymore. Lots of people go home with their friends or even on vacation. If I had the opportunity to go somewhere else, I would have immediately taken the chance.

OK, enough of me attempting to break the holiday cheer. If I can’t enjoy Thanksgiving break, NO ONE WILL!!! JK. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Break!
