Bizarre Incident Leaves QU Student Confused

As a commuter, I feel a little disconnected from campus life and student events and activities. But the moment I realized I was shut out altogether was today when I witnessed the most bizarre scene.

I was at work, delivering some mail, when I heard some yelling. At first, I ignored it but when I heard it again, I tried to figure out what was going on.

On the Quad was this group of people in red. They were taking directions from this guy, also dressed in red, who was talking through a bullhorn. He said something to the group that made them start yelling again. Then as a group, they ran toward this group in blue. Once the two groups collided, everyone froze and stood still for the next five minutes or so. Then they all just walked away and as if nothing happened.

I wish I had a camera with me because that picture would be so much better than the one I used.

UPDATE: This incident was actually a publicity stunt for the MTV Voter Drive, sponsored by the Student Programming Board. The participants were re-enacting a scene from the movie, Braveheart, and the guy with the bullhorn was reciting the speech. Their cue was the word "freedom."

This stunt was also inspired by Improv Everywhere's Grand Central Freeze.
