You know that club that always seemed way too freaking boring to be considered an extracurricular activity? Well, it won something. The Boise State Construction Management Association won an award for being the Top Associated General Contractors student chapter in the nation.
According to the Boise State Arbiter:
Boise State’s first-place finish beat chapters from Arizona State University and Southeast Community College, which came in second and third, respectively.
CMA is a group of Boise State students interested in the construction and development industry and has been active for more than 20 years. The club offers students many opportunities to further their education and professional careers. Specifically, members participate in service learning, meet with industry leaders, project management knowledge, volunteer in the community and learn hands-on skills.
“AGC recognizes that hands-on experience is the best way to develop our future management leaders,” Stephen Sandherr, CEO of AGC said. “Our student chapters represent the future of the construction profession.”
Woo effing hoo. Let’s have a party. Oh wait, let’s not. The Construction Management Team will probably be way too freaking annoying when they start try to tell everyone how to arrange the cups by the keg.
