There are many jokes to be made about lawyers being dogs, but this story is just too cute to mock, so please excuse the lack of snark. When Amy Jones received her law degree from Baylor University, so did her dog Skeeter.
Due to a skiing accident in 2002, Jones is a quadriplegic who uses a wheelchair. After the accident, Jones was given Skeeter, and the lovable black lab has accompanied her ever since, including to the classroom. Now he is earning his reward in the form of an honorary law degree.
The Houston Chronicle reports:
"Amy has busted through brick walls, and Skeeter has been faithfully by her side every step of the way," law school Dean Brad Toben said. "Skeeter has become a part of our community and part of our family here at the law school."
You can't help but feel all warm and fuzzy from the story. Good for Amy and Skeeter.
In more puppy news, I can’t help posting this video again:
