It always amazes me what makes big news and scandal status on this campus.
This year's new 'Got Consent?' banner (last years' was stolen... hmmm) was pilfered within the first week it was raised in the student union building. My god! someone call Shaggy and the gang! Even more hilarious than the fact this is BSU scandal worthy is the fact people are assuming this was a malicious attempt to promote... rape?
I'm sorry but you lost me. Isn't making a campaign that declares: 'if a women has a drop of alcohol, any sex is rape' kind of begging for an antagonist? This campus's ridiculous zeal for black and white policies (except for dry-campus when football is involved... that's far too much income) once again bites them in the ass.
A guest opinion in The Arbiter claims that students are taking this as a joke. Ummm... its hard not when you classify a majority of the sex occuring in and around campus as rape.
Now, I'm definitely not completely disagreeing with the program. Rape is a serious issue and there should be a campain for campus-wide education. I know many girls who have been victims and personally almost threw down at a Greek formal with a physically abusive douche. However if you're making rules and policies, stop living in candyland and understand where we really live.
Seriously... around here what else is there to do but drink and hook-up?
