Bill O'Reilly Appears on the View, Proves Himself the Most Offensive Harvard Alum of All Time

It’s difficult to believe Bill O’Reilly would have the audacity to call his memoir A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity, but then again, this is the reactionary talking head who dared to talk family values while hassling a female producer with late night calls seeking phone sex. Yesterday, the Loofah Loving Marist/BU/Harvard alum made a thrilling appearance on The View, in which he accused Barack Obama of being a communist, much to the delight of fellow republican hothead Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Perhaps the pinnacle of the O’Reilly on The View experience came when the tension between O’Reilly and Joy Behar culminated in O’Reilly referring to Behar as a “Kool Aid drinker,” to which she replied, “You drank the Kool Aid on George Bush for eight years, Bill.” Oh snap. Later Behar went on to “joke” about O’Reilly being the Devil, which seemed almost excessive until O’Reilly offended all of the ladies by implying that The View was merely entertainment as opposed to “important things going on.”

Still, O’Reilly wasn’t all ire and bile and contempt and rudeness. He did try to give Behar a bit of friendly advice at one point, telling her, “Your name is Joy! You should be joyful!” since there’s nothing worse than a misnomer. This button-pushing suggestion mostly inspired the ire and bile and contempt of Behar. It’s amazing how many people just one man can offend in the course of one viewing of The View.

What if Bill O'Reilly was right? Maybe Barak Hussein Obama is a communist? After all, he was raised by a registered communist and his preacher for 20 years was a communist and his mentor (aires) was a communist and Obama has communist ideas in his book. Hmmm. Posted 10/23/2008 12:53 PMReply

@ Anonymous: Barak Hussein Obama, if not a communist, is as close as an 'American' presidential aspirant can openly be. His personal appeal belies a deadly anti-American force that has repeatedly surface and re-surfaced. The Kool-Aid drinkers accept this in their unfortunate reactionary stance to the Republican party. Hey, first commenter, it's spelled Ayres. Also, he was not Obama's mentor. Also, can we talk about issues please? No? Well, that's why McCain is going to lose, so get used to it. And what anti-Americanism, second commenter? I mean, I understand it's going to keep resurfacing as a figment of your imagination, but where is your proof? Heck, where is any evidence at all? I think you should both look into a phenomenon known as cognitive dissonance... once you understand what it is, I fully expect you to claim I'm suffering from it. :) Also, work on that spelling, college kid. Actually, it's spelled Ayers. If Obama's association with Ayers is so irrelevant, why did Obama try to cover it up by saying Ayers was just some guy in the neighborhood? The Ayers-Obama connection has not been fully explored by the mainstream media, which is pro-Obama. And maybe he isn't anti-American, per se, but he was a candidate of the Democratic Socialist Party (called the New Party) when he ran for Illinois state senate. America has some social programs but it's not socialist yet, so in that sense Obama is anti-the traditional American economic system, which favors private ownership and free enterprise. Barack Hussein Obama is nothing more than an empty suited elitist who used the corrupt Chicgo political machine to his best advantage in order to achieve his goals. He's done almost nothing of substance. He's been a supposed IL Senator for going on 4 years or more and has been running for President for at least 19 or 20 of those months. He's the by-product of the (sometimes irrational) hatred of George Bush, the media elite who think they "know better" and a portion of our population who find it very difficult to actually think for themselves and know the true facts and issues. Obama is a mess and the USA will be in a bigger mess IF he wins on 11/4. All I can say to the village idiots who seem to worship him like a savior- Come the Pavillion my friend, come and drink the kool-aid. America gets the Government it dserves. Period. Great. More conservatives claiming anyone who disagrees with them is anti-American. I, for one, welcome our return to McCarthyism - a period in our history which is well known to have inspired the best in all of us... Seriously. Learn to disagree. Liberalism is no more indicative of being the anti-Christ or communist than conservatism is indicative of racism and religious fanaticism. Whatever your views on Obama's experience, it ought to be enough to simply disagree with someone - and, perhaps, vote? - without diving into the rhetoric of hate. I disagree with Sen. McCain on pretty much every issue - mainly women's rights and health care - and when I voted (absentee this week) it was based on that, not Keating, cheating or his use of air quotes around women's "health." Look... O'Reilly thinks that Obama has a lot of ideas that are rooted in socialism. I think so too... what's the big deal... O'Reilly is a registed independant, not a Republican... look it up. "Kill your parents, that's where it's at." Ayres said that... he's a crazy-scary communist (with some love for the anarchist movement) freak. I have to wonder why Omaba had ANYTHING AT ALL to do with such a person... Posted 10/24/2008 1:14 PMReply

Hmmm... Communist accusations against Obama? Let's see... he went to Harvard. Yup, that confirms it, he's a communist. Posted 10/24/2008 5:48 PMReply

How stupid do you really have to be to judge a man by his middle name?

Also, since we're talking about "friends". What about McCain's association with Oliver North who was also a domestic terrorist who McCain raved and raved about getting an endorsement from? Obama has condemned Ayers actions and they don't even know each other well. John McCain continues to "pal" around with Oliver North.

Also, if you look up O' Reilly's voter registration he is indeed a Republican. I, uh, looked it up just like that commenter told me to. Just because he SAYS he's an independent doesn't make it so.

In terms of socialism, that's been played so much now that I'm not sure people really believe that anymore. I don't have any problem with the Republican Party, but I do have a problem with claiming to be a party that will unite us and then immediately labeling anyone in the opposite party as being "Anti-American" "Socialist" "Communist" etc. For a man who has such a good record and history of reaching across the aisle... he's not really letting his party do that. Why, for example would you refer to Southern Virginia as the "Real" Virginians and then try to put forth the idea that Norther Virginians aren't "Real" Virginians. This is supposed to unite the country?

Both candidates have their flaws, and right now I'm still trying to decide. Obama doesn't have enough experience but at least he's not letting his spokesmen running around labeling anyone who doesn't support him as being "Anti-American." Our Country won't move forward like that. I'd like to think we don't have to like the President, but let's not destroy our country over it and start labeling areas or people who support one party "Anti-American." That's ludicrous.
