Facebook Failures: Photo Fraud

Facebook Failures: Photo Fraud
This would be a great Facebook photo -- for the girl on the left. Sadly, it's not hers.

Posting a facebook profile picture that doesn't clearly identify you is like concealing a three-pound weight gain with sweat pants and a giant t-shirt: people will wonder what you're hiding and assume the worst. Take the frosh above, for example -- yes, she's the one on the right, obscured by her smokin' friend. She's extremely pretty, but people are going to spend the next 1141 (yikes!) photos thinking, "Oh, so she's not the hot one in her picture." Ouch. If you absolutely must have a multi-person profile pic, follow these simple rules to avoid that fate:

1) Crop other people (esp. those of the same sex) out of the photo to avoid confusion.

2) If cropping them would leave you neckless, then make sure you are the most prominently displayed in the photo or your identity is indicated.

3) If all else fails, then at the very least make sure you are the hottest person in your own profile photo. Wouldn't you rather people feel relieved than disappointed once they finally figure out who the hell you are?
