Google + Facebook = Maka-Maka?

Google + Facebook = Maka-Maka?
Just when you thought Facebook was the biggest source of procrastination (until College.com?), along comes Google with its' new social networking site, which will probably be a big blow to Facebook. "But I can't see myself not using Facebook!" you say? Remember, this is Google, they will own us all one day, so one way or another you'll be using whatever they come up with.

From various reports, the new service from Google will be launched in the next week or so, and is being called Maka-Maka right now. What's going to make this different from Facebook, MySpace or Xanga (comeon, no one uses that do they?) is that it's going to implement a lot of the services you already use: Google Reader, iGoogle, Gmail, etc.

As TechCrunch puts it, Maka-Maka will add all the things you regularly use into one site that also works as a social networking site. "Your contacts are in Gmail. Your feeds are in Google Reader. Your IM buddy list is in Gtalk. Your upcoming events are in Google Calendar. Your widgets are in iGoogle." Also it looks like most of the applications you like on Facebook will be available on this new service as well.

So either this is going to be great, or just another way to allow people to stalk you easier. Enjoy!
