Hunter Lies to Students, Sells Out

Hunter Lies to Students, Sells Out
The following article from Adweek is so nauseating, I plan on vomiting directly on the next faculty member to cross my path.

In fact, I might even blow chunks in a barf bag and save them for the next faculty I see.

The True Story of a Bogus Blog is a perfect example of why college students (like me) have lost faith not just in their professors, but in college as a whole.

Last spring, a PR class at Hunter fabricated a story about a girl who’d been robbed of her precious Coach bag. The “girl” claimed the bag was a gift from her boyfriend in Iraq, and offered a $500 reward to anyone who found it.

The truth?

The story was fake, the girl was fake and the course was funded by a $10,000 grant from Coach, part of a college outreach campaign by the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC).

Corporate encroachment? Try blatant dishonesty and corruption.

Get the details here.

FYI: D&G is not registered with US Customs, so you can actually bring as many fake D&G purses into the US as you want. Posted 05/06/2008 2:39 PMReply
