Lead or Asphalt? Jersey Will Take Either.

Lead or Asphalt? Jersey Will Take Either.
New Jersey gets a lot more flak then it deserves.

Aside from its nickname, “the armpit of America,” most people firmly believe it’s a toxic dump full of noxious gasses.

Did I mention it’s home to Tromaville, the fictional cesspool city of the Troma movies?

Unfortunately, the latest news out of the Garden State isn’t going to help matters.

The Astroturf at Lions’ Stadium at the College of New Jersey was found to have levels of lead TEN TIMES the rate of what is considered safe. Despite this, schools plans to go ahead with its commencement ceremony on the field.

A school spokesman says the contaminated turf is being removed

Oh yeah?

Graduation is on May 16th. They’re really going to be able to pull all of contaminated turf out in three weeks?

No worries though. If they can’t finish the removal in time, the ceremony will be held on the stadium’s asphalt subsurface.

Somehow this prospect seems just right for New Jersey.
