Official OSU Rules: Horse Race

Official OSU Rules: Horse Race
It is about time we, as an OSU community, decide on the final rules for drinking games. Anyone else annoyed with going to a house party, sitting down to play a game, and spending fifteen minutes figuring out the rules to go by? This week we chronicle "Horse Race", a fast-paced card game designed to get you drunk and give you that gambling fix. If you'd like to add rules or suggestions, feel free to comment.

Name: Horse Race

Alternate Names: None Known

Required Equipment: Table, Deck of Cards, Beer

Number of People: 4 (Or 4 teams of the same number)

Setup: Pull out the 4 aces in the deck and have each player select one. Then shuffle the deck and cut. Lay down the top 8 cards face down in a line, with the aces at one end. Shuffle the deck again and begin. Players then place bets on the horses. The crowd can also make bets on which horse will win.

Play: The dealer will continually flip over a card and that suited ace will move forward and take a drink. Once all four horses have reached each gate, that gate card is flipped over and that suited ace moves back one gate.

Game Over When: One Ace goes past the final "gate" and reaches the finish line. All won drinks will be delegated and all lost drinks will be drank by the loser.

Special Rules: Betting can be as complex as the players wish, in order to emulate true horse racing. A dealer and an announcer can be used to hype the action.
