It sometimes works when a girl cries to a police officer just to get out of a small speeding ticket (unless you're me...). However, apparently getting you're car towed isn't something you can just cry your way out of (because again, I cried and failed... about a half hour ago). Even though my tears were legitimate - the "visitor's" spots are so not distinguishable, especially at night - the mean man driving my car away from me would not let me get my car back without a hefty fee.

Here's my story: I went over to a friend's apartment to study/catch up on TV shows (she has DVR, I do not). As I was leaving I couldn't find my car, which was kind of hard to miss since I wasn't parked near any other cars. Then I spot it, being dragged off in the other direction. I start running and screaming, purse in one hand, laptop in the other, until the tow truck stops and realizes that this histerical girl chasing after him actually owned the car he was towing. Apparently there are specific spots designated for visitors, and I had not parked in one (ps - I've visited this apartment complex a million times before and have never run into this "problem").

I do my best, crying and all, to get my car back. He gives me two options: pay for it now or pick it up at the yard. Excuse me?!? The yard? I am a Baylor girl, no way am I going to get my car from a yard. So I acquiesce and pay up. What's the price to get your car back in the middle of the night at your BFF's apartment complex? $125. And you thought Baylor Parking Services was bad.

Moral of the story, pay attention to all parking designations and never leave home without your credit card.
