Robert Gibbs to be Obama's White House Press Secretary

Politico is now reporting that Robert Gibbs, Barack Obama’s communications director throughout the campaign, will be named White House Press Secretary. The Alabama-born Gibbs has been seen on many talk shows throughout the campaign, but is going to catapault to a whole new level of recognition as press secretary, joining such names as Ari Fleischer, Scott McClellan and Dana Perino.

Most people will say this is a good call because Gibbs has “unquestioned authority, access and institutional memory. “ The offer hasn’t been accepted yet, but could anyone really say no? More details to follow.
