Ohio State. UGA. USC. UW Madison. Michigan. What do they all have in common besides seriously good looking women?
High-brow classes on legalized drugs.
Lucky for pill-popping junkies the University of New England is joining the team.
Yes, the great state of Maine will soon offer education for those interested in learning more about Prozac and Xanax. The school recently began construction on a new College of Pharmacy in Portland, the second pharmacy school to be built in Maine in the last few years.
Second pharmacy school?
Of course.
What do you do if you live in the vapid expanse called Maine? Drugs. Take it from a guy who lived there for 19 years. How else could one possibly cope with New England tedium?
The construction of this pharmacy college seems this project confirms one serious thing: student’s fondness for Perc’s and Oxy’s is growing.
In fact, a study last year out of the University of Michigan found illicit drug (marijuana, coke) had decreased – but prescription abuse is more popular than ever among teenagers.
Sure, there might be other reasons students want to study legalized drugs (like the ability to find gainful employment after graduation), but I am willing to bet that the majority of the student body wants to get a buzz.
Kudos to Maine for making it a little easier. They’ve done residents a true service by lightening the state’s load of boredom, and for occupying kids’ time with chemistry and pills.

I understand that pill popping is a problem, but that claiming the University is "teaching kids how to handle their stash" doesn't make ANY sense. Posted 05/02/2008 2:09 PMReply
