Ben Folds at Brown

Ben Folds at Brown

WBRU is the best college radio station eva!  This Thursday Brown Radio is bringing singer/songwriter Ben Folds to Providence.  Performing at the Bank of America City Center downtown.  Act fast:  tickets will be on sale for $20 in Faunce House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Wednesday.   If you procrastinate until Thursday, tickets will be $25.

Known for his piano stylings as much as his voice, Ben Folds was once in Ben Folds Five, but he ditched the other four to start a solo career.  Sure he produced Will Shatner's album, Has Been, but he was also the first person to broadcast a live concert over MySpace.  I don't know if that makes him cool or not, but the fact that he is currently producing The Dresdon Dolls superstar, Amanda Palmer's solo album does.

You can read more about it at the Brown Daily Herald.

Ben Folds is OK. It's nice that it's so cheap, though. =) Posted 09/23/2008 3:00 PMReply
