The Ivy League is comprised of some of the best and brightest minds in the world, but not everyone who attends the Ancient Eight is a pimple-faced, pocket-pocketing egghead. Some are actually attractive Hollywood celebrities.
In honor of this startling revelation, OTR presents a ranking of the Ivy League universities based on the number of hot celebrities that attended each school.
(DO) denotes they dropped out.
1. Columbia: Admittedly, it was a close race between the top two schools on the list, but ultimately, Columbia narrowly pulled ahead by marrying quality with quantity.
Notable Celebrities: Alicia Keys (DO), Jake Gyllenhaal (DO), Anna Paquin, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julia Stiles, Amanda Peet, Famke Janssen, Matthew Fox, Jesse Bradford, Rider Strong, Casey Affleck, Katie Holmes (attended for a summer session), Lauren Graham and James Franco.
2. Harvard: Shocked that the nerdiest Ivy is second on the list? So are we.
Notable Celebrities: Rashida Jones, Tatyana Ali, Natalie Portman, Elisabeth Shue, Mira Sorvino, Matt Damon (DO), Traci Bingham (dropped out for Baywatch), B.J. Novak and Conan O’Brien (the pompadour is hot).
3. Yale: In a distant third comes New Haven’s own Ivy League school with a handful of attractive celebrity attendees.
Notable Celebrities: Shia Labeouf (DO), Jordana Brewster, Jennifer Connelly, Edward Norton, young Meryl Streep and Claire Danes.
4. Princeton: While the celebrities of Princeton are admittedly drop-dead gorgeous, they’re mostly men, so the school was docked for lack of variety.
Notable Celebrities: Brooke Shields, Wentworth Miller, Dean Cain and David Duchovny.
5. University of Pennsylvania: Yes – I know. You’d expect a business-focused school to attract nothing but greasy Wall Street types, but as it turns out, that’s simply not the case.
Notable Celebrities: Elizabeth Banks, John Legend, Maury Povich (OK -- not hot, but who doesn’t love him?) and Ivanka Trump
6. Cornell: From here on out, the hotness level takes a sharp nosedive. You’ve been warned.
Notable Celebrities: Bill Nye the Science Guy (admit it – you all had a crush on him), Christopher Reeve, Bill Maher and Jimmy Smits.
7. Dartmouth: People often forget that this school is even in the Ivy League, and now, you know why.
Notable Celebrities: Rachel Dratch (sort of hot – right?!), young Meryl Streep (a repeat, because she was an exchange student) and Prison Breaks’ Sarah Wayne Callies.
8. Brown: Nobody hot – let alone a celebrity – has ever gone to this school. Just kidding – sorta!
The only notable celebrity is Leelee Sobieski, and she dropped out!

The Harvard girls, especially Natalie and Rashida, are way hotter than the Columbia ones and drop outs shouldn't count! Posted 09/26/2008 2:42 PMReply
Jennifer Beals
Angela Bassett
Liev Schreiber (anybody who can hold on to Naomi Watts has got to be hot)
Anderson Cooper
Kellie Martin
Ari Meyers (perhaps you're too young to remember "Kate & Allie")
And since you listed Meryl Streep, I'll add other Yale School of Drama post-grads:
Sigourney Weaver
David Duchovny
Chris Noth
Courtney B.Vance
Henry Winkler
Paul Newman
Looks like blowout to me Posted 09/26/2008 10:38 PMReply
Brown University
There is no way they should be last.
And if the poster has to stretch and add Maury Povich, they obviously didn't do enough research. Posted 09/28/2008 6:32 PMReply
