ScrapArtsMusic Plays CalTech, Hates Spacing Words

ScrapArtsMusic Plays CalTech, Hates Spacing Words

For the industrious students at CalTech (and well, the not so industrious students too), a ScrapArtsMusic show will be hosted at t he school Friday October 3rd. ScrapArtsMusic is a lot like Stomp, except more Californian and not the first ones to think up beating on random shit. Regardless of the originality factor, however, it should be an entertaining show, significantly more scintillating than psychics homework.

According to Pasadena Now:

Rooted in street performance, jazz, and world music traditions, ScrapArtsMusic excites the senses with intricate rhythms, raw energy, athletic choreography and the hottest — and most inventive — reuse of materials on stage today. Fashioned from industrial scrap and offbeat materials ranging from accordion parts to artillery shells, ScrapArtsMusic's one-of-a-kind instruments are as visually striking as their music is sonically riveting…

Caltech is hosting ScrapArtsMusic on Friday, October 3rd at 8:00 p.m. in Beckman Auditorium. Tickets are $30.00, $25.00, $20.00 and $10.00/youth. Caltech is located at 332 S. Michigan, Pasadena. For tickets and more information call (626) 398-3534 or log onto www.events.caltech.edu.

So, if you go to CalTech and you don’t want to do the whole X-Box and pizza Friday night routine, check out the ScrapArtsMusic show. You may run in to faculty, which can be awkward, but it’s a reasonable price to pay for getting out of the dorm. Capische?
