$10 Well Spent: Today Show Concert Series

The best part of the Today Show, which I never get watch because I'm snuggled under my warm blankie, is the Summer Concert series held at Rockefeller Plaza in the wee hours of the morning. The upside is the free concert, the downside the music acts start at 7 am, which means a cranky, early morning for hopeful attendees.

If your up for it, here's a quick guide to spending around $10, on your morning venture to Rockefeller Plaza.

The best route to Rockefeller Plaza by train is to take the B,D,F or V to the 47-50th Rockefeller Center stop. There will definitely be transferring involved, so use HopStop.com or the MTA online directions.

Food

Coffee: $2.60 tax incl. (Starbucks Venti House Coffee)

Bagel: $2.00 (Anywhere near the event)

Total: $4.60

It's true that you may get coffee at any coffee stand or Mom & Pop's place for a bit cheaper, but this cup o' joe is gigantic and it packs the caffeine punch you necessary to enjoy concert merriment. A bagel with butter or cream cheese should be just fine for breakfast.

Less than ten bucks and you get food, a concert, and transportation! Who says you cant make it in New York City. A side note, if you do guzzle down that Starbucks coffee please use the restroom. The concert lasts from 7 am to 9 am, no tinkling on fellow music fans.

Adele- June 10th

This fairly new edition to the swarm of female vocalists from across the pond (e.g. Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse, etc.) will be performing in-studio.

Rihanna- June 20th

Instead of listening to the countless covers of "Umbrella," you can hear it straight from the crooner's throat, ella, ella, eh, eh. Sorry, it had to be done.

Coldplay- June 27th

The new album, Viva la Vida, is set for release on June 17th, and this performance is the sealant on the Coldplay comeback extravaganza, complete with matching iPod commercial.
