4 out of 5 College Graduates Can't Get Jobs; Students Everywhere Cry

In a world where we rejoice that gas is under $2, where we rejoice that we can even build houses and that the stock market hasn't done the-Black-Friday thing, it's still looking like college students don't have much happiness to hang their hat on.

BizJournal reports that 4 out of 5 college graduates and seniors looking for jobs have been unsuccessful in finding employment-- both long-term and even part-time jobs for the holidays. Despite searching and sending out resumes, students still doubt their chances:

Only 22 percent surveyed said they had secured a part-time or full-time job for the upcoming winter break. That’s down from 47 percent of survey respondents in 2007.

Of those still looking for a job, 53 percent said they think they are unlikely to secure a position, the survey said.

Awesome! So even though we've been working our tushies off trying to get that college degree that everyone has convinced us is oh-so-necessary to become anything in the world, we're still going to be completely screwed over when it comes to getting jobs. It seems as though we can't seem to get a break-- whether it's tuition or even getting jobs to pay off our tuition debts. Here's to hoping that someone somewhere out there will be able to fix this...
