Ferrell and Reilly Stumble – Again
Final Thoughts: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are definitely in a comedic slump.
Ferrell’s last film, Semi-Pro, was devoid of humor, and Reilly’s Walk Hard offended more than it entertained.
Desperate for a hit, the two comedians decided it was time to rekindle their “shake-n-bake” magic from Talladega Nights by joining forces to produce Step Brothers.
The results are decidedly mixed, but the film’s gags, which are comprised mainly of vulgar fart jokes, are more miss than hit. Expect lots of penis jokes, including a shot or two of a faux hairy scrotum.
When the funniest scene in a comedy appears during its credits, there is something very, very wrong.
