Five-Word Review: I Love You, Man

A Bromance With Rush Music

Extended Thoughts: In all honesty, the five words above are all you need to understand the premise behind Paul Rudd and Jason Segel's new buddy flick, but if you need a bit more coaxing to see this movie, you got it.

At its core, I Love You, Man is a romantic comedy, but instead of Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson falling in love for the umpteenth time, we have Paul Rudd and Jason Segel bonding over Rush music, talking about masturbation at great length and getting roughed up by an angry, yet gentle Lou Ferrigno.

In short, the film attempts to answer the question that Plato, Socrates and countless others have wrestled with all their lives: Can two men be close without being too close? The answer, unsurprisingly, is 'yes', and by the end of I Love You, Man, you'll be left wanting to fist bump your bestfriend and rock out in his garage to whatever music you both enjoy.

If that's not a ringing endorsement for a must-see movie, I don't know what is.

Side Note: Don't see Nicolas Cage's latest sci-fi disaster, Knowing. It's an abomination.
