500,000 German Soccer Fans Gather to Watch the World Cup Together

This was the scene in Berlin during the Germany-England World Cup match on June 27th: five-hundred thousand fans cheering, jeering and, undoubtedly, shouting profane things in unison.

To put things into perspective: that’s more people than the entire population of Iceland and fifty other countries.

Fortunately for everyone involved, Germany trounced England in that match to advance into the quarter-finals. However, for a moment, consider what may have happened if they had failed to rout the British. I’ll give you a hint: that Godzilla-sized television set would no longer be functional, let alone standing in its place.

On July 3rd, Germany will take on Argentina, and if they want to secure a clear, decisive victory against them, I suggest they spend the next few days making sure that the Argentinean team sees this clip before the match.

To Argentina, I offer you this piece of advice:

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.
