Of all the extra curricular activities to pick up during your undergraduate career, other than snorting coke and falling on the floor from intoxication, these Hollywood stars chose... a cappella?? Take a look at the stars who stuck with harmony as opposed to raucous cacophony.

1. Anne Hathaway

This gorgeous starlet majored in English with a minor in Women's Studies at Vassar. Though her undergraduate career at Vassar was short lived, she transferred to NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Hathaway joined the a cappella group Measure 4 Measure. Hathaway is not only a seasoned actress, she is a trained soprano who has performed at Carnegie Hall with the All Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus.

2. Wentworth Miller

Before enduring relentless questioned about his sexuality, Wentworth Miller was a Princeton University English Literature major with an interest in a cappella. After studying Boccaccio, he would sing with the Princeton Tigertones. He must have amazed the audience with more than his vocalizing. ::Dreamy sigh::

3. James Van Der Beek

Dawson's Creek star, James Van Der Beek, took a full scholarship to Drew University to study English, but he discovered another passion, singing. The soon-to-be household name sang with a cappella group 36 Madison Avenue. Van Der Beek should do an a cappella album including "I Don't Want To Wait" by Paula Cole.

4. John Legend

It's no surprise that John Legend had an interest in music, his ubiquitous single "Ordinary People" got rave reviews in every music media outlet. Prior to this fame, Legend gave a boost to the University of Pennsylvania a cappella Counterparts. He attended U Penn to study English with a concentration in African American literature.

5. Masi Oka (Hiro from Heroes)

We all know this Heroes star, but he tore up the a cappella scene at Brown University. Though he majored in computer science, Oka sang with Bear Necessities. From computer science, to singer, to acting, he is a true triple threat.

6. Rashida Jones

The progeny of music genius, Quincy Jones, Rashida Jones studied religion and philosophy at Harvard University. In line with the musical influence of her father, she became part of a cappella group the Opportunes. I'm sure Quincy gave her a nod of approval on this choice, though she seems to have jumped on the acting track.

7. Ed Helms

Ed is known for being Jon Stewart's right hand man on The Daily Show, but his comedic timing may have been polished in the a cappella group the Obertones at Oberlin College.

8. Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel has definitely grown out of her 7th Heaven role, but before she was a WB star she had aspirations of joining the Tufts University a cappella group the Amalgamates. Tufts did not complete her degree at Tufts and she also didn't fulfill her desire for a cappella either. Biel was rejected from the a cappella group, apparently her vocals weren't up to par, so I guess that's why she opted for dating Justin Timberlake. She has hopes of his falsetto rubbing off on her.
