Abusive Boss - How To Keep Your Job

There probably hasn’t been one person in this world who
hasn’t worked for a miserable boss in his or her life. I know I
have. Some are worse than others. Some do all they can to
try to fire you or get you to quit.
It’s called workplace harassment and it’s a crime.

Look, nobody is perfect. Even good bosses have their bad
days. Deadlines creep up, pressure from above increases,
sales go down, or maybe even just a bad cold can make a
good boss irritable on any given day.
However, and this is what is important, if the abuse or bad
behavior is continual or even close to it (3 out of every 5
work days are bad) then there is a problem and you need to
know when enough is enough.
How will you know this? The warning signs are clear and you
need to be able to recognize them.
For starters, you will begin to feel bad. Suddenly, you’re not
as happy at work as you used to be. That smile on your face
is not there as much.
Then you begin to feel that it IS your own fault…that
somehow you really ARE a screwup and your boss is just
giving you the truth. The problem with this theory is, real
screwups don’t care what their boss thinks or does. They
just keep being screwups. The fact that you feel badly
means you are NOT a screwup.
Eventually what happens is that the bullying starts to affect
you outside of the office. You start bringing the stress home
and taking it out on others.
That’s when you know it’s time to either confront your boss
or get out of the situation altogether.
No job, no matter how much the pay, is worth it.

Fortunately, a Yale and UC expert on business law has come
out with a great book that puts everything you will need to
know to protect yourself in one place. In fact, there are things you will learn that you would have
never thought of on your own.
