After SNL, Michael Phelps Should Stick With Swimming

Now that the dust has settled and everyone has watched and re-watched Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, it’s time to move onto the other star of SNL Saturday… Michael Phelps.

His much hyped appearance left me wanting more… more Tina Fey, that is.

When it came to his hosting duties, Phelps brought his big ears, but not so big laughs. He tried, he really did, so you’ve got to give him credit. Still, he stumbled over his words, stared straight into the teleprompter and oozed awkwardness.

But none of that matters.

America loves Michael Phelps and we all know he’s no comedian. But as long as he can walk around shirtless and swim like some gold-medal-hording man-fish, we’ll keep on loving him.

I like him even more after all that SNL ordeal. He was brave enough to show there even though he knew people would criticise and probably make fun of him. Kudos, Mike. Real men take chances, no matter if they succeed or fail. Posted 09/15/2008 11:35 AMReply
