Alec Baldwin Bites the Peacock Claw That Feeds Him

Why is Alec Baldwin in a blind rage every time I turn around? Last time I checked he had steady employment on an award winning comedy that’s one of the best shows on television. I mean granted we all know his home life is constantly in shambles, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be happy bathing in money and Emmys. But in a recent New Yorker interview, GWU/NYU alum Baldwin lashes out at his bosses over at NBC. This excerpt he’s calmly discussing his response to a request to do a full season of shows on 30 Rock:

 
"I said, 'Go **** yourself.' I saw it as network scumbags trying to **** you around."

Oh, well alright then. I mean yeah, who wants to get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play an incredibly popular character on a hit show? But he’s not done yet, as he tears into his weekly competition as well, and shows how much faith he has in his parent company:

"Zucker (NBC CEO), I like, but everybody who works for Zucker I have reservations about. If the show does succeed, it'll be something of a ****ing miracle, because NBC hasn't done a ****ing thing to help this show at all. This show is the red-headed stepchild in the lineup. They've gone out of their way to wring the last drops out of My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. Those shows are done! They're cooked! Yet they do a one-hour episode of Earl! You've got to be ****ing kidding me!"

Wow. He does realize that a New Yorker interview is going to be published right? I guess he’s just kind of asking to get fired, since he’s clearly so unhappy with his “miserable” job on 30 Rock. But he does make a fair point, Scrubs and My Name is Earl suck something awful these days. Earl was an innovative concept for about three episodes, but all of a sudden in it’s fifth season with hour long episodes? Does it think it’s The Office? And as for Scrubs, did anyone even know that show was still on? Is Zach Braff even alive? The last time I remember seeing him was in Garden State four years ago.

More power to you Alec, someone’s gotta say it, even if “it” is full of expletives and faulty logic.
