CNN: My once most trusted news source has proven itself less informational and more salacious these days. In the last week alone, the dirty bird of news outlets, has offered up the bizarre and the brazen.
In one of the tamer stories, we find a mailman’s simple fight to wear a skirt. At 6-foot-tall and 250-pounds, Dean Peterson just doesn’t want to wear pants, which he finds uncomfortable. What’s so wrong with his uniform consisting of a kilt, he’d like to know? Unfortunately, the National Letter Carriers’ Association is not convinced, but fortunately CNN picked up his plight, bringing attention to this leg-baring plea.
Move on over to the health stories and you’d think you’d find stories of cancer cures and vaccine innovations, but look again because there’s pole dancing. Yes, I’m aware the suggestive stripper moves have become a trendy exercise technique, but to be honest it’s not that new and it’s not the news. Plus it makes me squirm to read about a former nurse upside down on a pole and “clenching her inner thighs” on CNN. That’s what I read Perez Hilton for.
And to top off this week, my favorite of the CNN-in-the-gutter news is: “It’s better than sex, they say.” Did you know natural highs can have some of the same feel-good effects as sex? Yup, it’s true. The news organization quotes a shoe-fiend, mountain climbing aficionado and even a restaurant lover who find their passion just as exhilarating as a romp in the sack. One guy says public speaking turns him on. I’m thinking that might be a bad combination, though.
Still, when it comes to getting the dirt, I turn to dirty CNN because there’s nowhere else I can find sex advice stuck in between the war in Georgia and Olympic heroics.
