Barack Obama Plays Nice, Possibly Offer Clinton Secretary of State Position

Good old Barry Obama is doing his best to mend fences and build bridges and invoke all those other architectural metaphors for being nice to old enemies. As such, he met with Hillary Clinton, his former Democrat foe, to possibly discuss her maybe position that could perhaps materialize in his administration. See, no one’s saying too much.

Rumors have flown that Clinton would be offered the Secretary of State position, but so far that information has remained a rumor… much like the rumor that Clinton would be Obama’s VP that circled the news back in the day, but didn't pan out.

However, now it does seem like Obama will offer her some sort of role. And if she really has future political ambitions, it’s probably best for her to take it. Does she agree? As a CNN story shows, Clinton answered the buzz like any good politician… with double speak:

"I am happy being a senator from New York. I love this state and this city," she said. "I am looking at the long list of things I have to catch up on and do.

"But I want to be a good partner and I want to do everything I can to make sure his agenda is going to be successful."

In other “Let’s be friends” news, Obama is scheduled to meet with John McCain on Monday. Could they be talking about a possible position too… or just finally bonding over all the blunders and bloopers that was Sarah Palin?
