Biden (Possibly) Booed at Eagles-Giants Game, CNN Scrambles For News Post Election

Despite having been born in Scranton, PA, Joe Biden did not get a warm reception at the Eagles-Giants game…or so says CNN, at least. The news service claims that a shot on the big screen of Biden watching the game prompted boos from the crowd.

It’s not entirely out of the question considering sports fans from the City of Brotherly Love are known to be not-so-lovely. Philadelphia Flyer fans booed Sarah Palin (duh) when she dropped the puck at their season opener and Eagles fan even threw snowballs at Santa Claus once in a 1968 game.

But commenters on the article raise suspicion that perhaps CNN did not get this story quite right. Here’s just a little round-up of comments that dominated the discussion (though of course there were also the requisite “Biden sucks” declarations):

Yes, yes. intentional grounding occured. Elijiah got away with it. They were booing because of that. CNN you have lost my attention along with your objectivity.

They were booing the call on the field, not Biden. It was just unfortunate timing.

Seems pretty obvious that the booing wasn't about Biden. CNN ought to pull this story quick.

They were booing at the bad no-call on the field, you morons. Try watching the game and not searching every corner for a political tabloid story.

I do not think the fans were booing Biden. I was watching game and there was a bad call by the referee that went against The Eagle. The fans were booing that call the same time they show Biden on the big screen.

It goes on from there, but I think you get the idea. I know the election is over and news has since been slow, but it’s time to move on. Don’t worry CNN, in another four years you can whip out the fancy maps and magical holograms again. Until then, let’s stick to the facts.
