Breakin' The Law: The Five-Fingered Wal-Mart Discount

From the angry parents to the endless hours, working retail during the holiday season is a nightmare, especially when one is earning minimum wage for their efforts.

Having undoubtedly come to this realization, one St. Joseph’s College student endeavored to make the best of his job at Wal-Mart by stealing merchandise from the store and selling it to students at his college.

Some call it thievery; I call it a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit.

Jeffry Robert Wisler, 19, was arrested for allegedly taking 26 iPods, “including 12 iPod Nanos, six iPod Touches, and one iPod Classic, since the beginning of November 2008.”

Like other retail thieves, Wisler forgot one thing: There are video cameras everywhere.

They don't even try to hide them either...

And so, Wisler was caught red-handed, and now, he faces Class-D felony charges, which could carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.

If you happen to notice the numbers don't add up...12+1+6 = 19 NOT 26. Posted 01/14/2009 1:32 PMReply
