Breakin' The Law: UW Student Arrested And Fined For Throwing Snowballs

Most people consider Campus Safety, the ragtag band of flashlight-carrying law enforcement officers, to be a complete and utter joke.

 

Why? Well, they don’t carry guns, and their jurisdiction ends at the campus gates. In other words, they aren’t really police officers.

 

Nevertheless, you shouldn’t mess with them – or else, you’ll end up like Anthony Amerman, a 20-year-old University of Wisconsin student who was arrested and fined for throwing snowballs on campus.

 

After refusing to stop throwing snowballs at his friends, Amerman was slapped with a $466 fine for “throwing objects on campus” and “obstructing an officer.”

 

Unless the snowballs were this big:

 

I think we can all agree that Campus Safety has a wee bit too much time on their hands.
