According to TMZ, Macaulay Culkin’s sister Dakota was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon when she stepped off a curb and walked into on-coming traffic.

Dakota, 29, was walking along Los Angeles’ Westside at the time of the accident; the driver of the vehicle that struck her attempted to resuscitate her on the scene—but to no avail.

The LA Times reports:

Macaulay's rep says: "We can officially confirm that the victim is Dakota Culkin. This is a terrible tragic accident. We have no further comment at this time."

The 29-year-old Culkin was taken to the UCLA Medical Center, where she died of her injuries Wednesday afternoon.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case, which is under investigation by the LAPD.

While the driver of vehicle was reportedly not under influence, the LAPD are investigating the incident.
