Earlier in the weekend the Nashville radio station 107.5 The River leaked what is supposedly the first single off Britney Spears’ upcoming album, Circus. After that, the song, “Womanizer,” spread across the Internet like a naked crotch shot normally does. Check it out above in all its poor quality glory.
 

But, while all accounts seem to indicate the song is the real deal, we’ll all know for sure today when Womanizer is officially released. The rest of the album will hit stores on Dec. 2, Britney’s 27th birthday. As a side note, isn’t it a little shocking to think that Britney rose to global fame as a pop star, got married (twice technically), popped out two kids, had an epic meltdown and is now on the road to a comeback, all before turning 27?
 

As for Womanizer, you will likely hear it on the radio today (and every day hereafter), but the song will be making its small screen debut sometime in December. According to British tabloid The Sun, Britney will be performing the single on “The X Factor,” Simon Cowell’s UK reality show. A real live (ok well, “live” is questionable) Britney Spears performance? While the words Britney Spears and performance in the same sentence conjure up horrible images of last year’s VMAs, let’s hope for the best this time around.
 

If nothing else, let’s at least pray the outfit is better.
