Last week, approximately 1,500 Chapman University students stripped down for their unofficial Undie Run. While most people can’t complain about attractive coeds in their underwear, the mayor of Orange, CA, was not pleased. The skimpily clad students caused what could end up being $19,000 worth of damage to a city fountain.
 

The students climbed into the 71-year-old fountain damaging its upper bowl. Now the school will have to pay for the cleaning and repairing of the fountain as well as possibly the police needed to keep the nearly nude students in check.
 

The OC Register reports:

Mayor Carolyn Cavecche said she wanted the university to also pay for using Orange police to block off traffic. The city has not come up with an estimated cost for this yet, having to shift officers from other duties to handle the crush of students and call some on duty to help out.

"I'm concerned about destruction to city property, and the use of police resources in a manner that potentially caused a risk for the rest of the city when I have to have that many officers," Cavecche said. "It's a financial drain on my department to have to deal with an incident like that.

"Those are my major concerns, and that's putting aside having college students take their clothes off and party in the city's plaza," the mayor said.

Okay, be concerned about city property and safety risks, but don’t knock college students taking their clothes off.
