Breaking News: the iPhone is coming to Verizon in January.

Wait, why are you laughing at me? I’m serious this time!

Okay, okay. So, this rumor—and that’s all it is at the moment—is about as tired, beaten and battered as a Las Vegas call girl, but eventually, it has to come true, right? Right?!

Citing two sources “familiar” with the matter, Bloomberg is reporting that Apple’s iPhone will debut on Big Red (Verizon) in January, ending AT&T’s three-year-long chokehold on the device. And, as a bonus, it may even come equipped with LTE, Verizon’s 4G technology.

Of course, nothing is set in stone, and even if Bloomberg’s sources are legitimate, plans can change overnight. After all, AT&T backpedaled on the unlimited data plan for the iPad after just two months, and Apple, as far as we know, allowed it.

So, keep on rubbing your lucky rabbit’s foot until January, and maybe, just maybe your wait for Apple's elusive, Verizon-branded unicorn will finally come to an end.
