Code Pink Crazies Try to Arrest Karl Rove

There are many protesting organizations about the war in Iraq, but perhaps none more….outspoken than Code Pink. The group of women (and a few men) march around the country bemoaning our extended stay abroad and the loss of our troops. You might remember them being hauled out of around fifty different conservative lecturers' presentation over the past year or so, including most notably the Republican National Convention.

Well, this time they almost landed themselves a big fish, Karl Rove. Specifically, during a speech at a San Francisco (your first mistake Karl) mortgage banker meeting , a 58-year old protestor named Janine Boneparth got within a few feet of him and attempted to handcuff him in what she said was “a citizen’s arrest for treason.” Well it turns out security wasn’t buying her citizen peacekeeper credentials and she was escorted off the stage.

Throughout the speech, five women from Code Pink were removed from the hall, but none were charged with anything, except being obnoxious. I’m as anti-Rove as the next guy, but watching these women get hauled of these speeches screeching like a cat being boiled alive is painful. As Jon Stewart once said after showing one such video, “You’re not helping.”
