What lasts 24 hours, costs $1, and gives you free Funyuns at 2 in the morning? No, I'm not talking about your ex the time he stole his dad's Viagra. It's the College Hill Longform Improv Festival, which starts at 9 PM tonight and lasts until 9 PM tomorrow. That's a whole crapload of laughter, Brown, can you handle it?
Starla and Sons kicks it off at 9 PM, and the Fest features 11 Improv Teams from Rhode Island and Mass*. Expect to see long skits (hence the term "longform") with characters and themes that carry on from one team to the next. Also, expect to see some delirious comedians come morning, which in of itself should be exciting. Whether you're there at 9, at 3 am after the bar (which sounds good to me!) or anytime between start and finish, you'll probably at least snicker a little to yourself, if not give a full out belly laugh.
The Funyuns are free at 2:30 am, there's Piano Funk music at 4:30, a free raffle if you survived 12 hours at 9 AM, and free breakfast at 10. You can read more about it at the Herald today.
(* I just realized why everyone in this area calls it "Mass." It's because no one knows how the heck to spell Massachusetts.)
Get your behind to Salomon Hall 001 at 75 Waterman Street.
