And the superlative for the College Most Likely to Have a Bangin’ Inauguration Party goes to (drum roll please) Columbia University, the alma mater of President-Elect Barack Obama. Prezzy-E Obama graduated from Columbia in 1983, and of course we’ve all seen the TIME photos of the young Ivy Leaguer chilling.

It seems like never has an inauguration been such a party opp, with loads of college kids skidaddling down to Washington DC to celebrate the new president, alongside the likes of Oprah, Beyonce, Bono, Stevie Wonder, and Usher. And no doubt we’re pretty excited to see whether Beyonce works her trademark booty shake during her performance of “America the Beautiful.” Still, Columbia students have a reason to be proud of their famous alum, who is probably the coolest president to date.

The AP reports:

Columbia University is throwing a campus party to celebrate the inauguration of its first graduate to become president: Barack Obama, Class of '83.

"So you can't make it to D.C.?" reads an e-mail invitation from university president Lee C. Bollinger to alumni. "Come celebrate Obama's inauguration with the Columbia community."

Just inside the university's iron entrance gates, a framed poster of a smiling Obama looks onto a plaza where a giant television screen will be set up for the broadcast of Tuesday's ceremony in Washington, barring extreme weather. Hot chocolate and warm cider will be served.

"He's everywhere! This semester has been completely Obama," said junior Anna Brauer, vice president of Columbia's Democratic club.

"Happy days are here again!" reads a flier tacked to the window of a pub near campus. "Celebrate President Obama '83."

Obama attended the university's Columbia College from 1981 to 1983, the last two years of his undergraduate studies, majoring in political science with a specialization in international relations.

Now, the school is basking in his reflected glory — as other schools that educated future presidents have done, including California's Whittier College, the alma mater of Richard Nixon.

I just hope that it gets so crazed with Obama cheer at Columbia that the girls there decide to go for a spontaneous Undie Run, UCLA style. Given, it’s a bit (okay, actually a lot) colder in New York City than in Los Angeles. But if Obama could rise above being raised by a single mother in Indonesia as a half white and half black kid during the 1970s, being named Barack Hussein Obama, and admitting to sniffing coke to then become president of the United States, I think that the cute girls at Columbia can sacrifice a few degrees of body warmth and a few articles of clothing for the sake of patriotism. And our viewing pleasure, of course.
