Commencement Week Is Opposite Week!

It looks like Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke will be speaking at Class Day this year. If he tries to make jokes, I will punch someone in the face. "SUBPRIME LOLZZZZZ"

Harry Potter for Commencement and Federal Reserve for Class Day... really? Full details below:

Hey Seniors,

I have some very exciting news! The SCC is pleased to announce the 2008 Class Day Speaker. Over the past two years, this person has been instrumental in forming and coordinating the monetary and broader economic policy of the U.S. This person grew up in Dillon, South Carolina, attended Harvard College, concentrated in Economics, was a resident of Winthrop House, and is a killer saxophonist. This person has taught at Stanford, NYU, and later began teaching at Princeton where he eventually received tenured. He has written three textbooks on macroeconomics and one on microeconomics.

Still stumped? Well, here’s a hint – he is the current Chairman of the Board of Governors of the United States Federal Reserve. Got it now? We are excited to announce that the 2008 Class Day Speaker of Harvard College is Ben S. Bernanke ‘75.
