Dormcest to T2: College Slang

College is a time to learn the fundamentals of chemistry, the masterpieces of Renaissance artists, and of course, college vernacular. Speaking like a person your own age can be tricky sometimes. So as not to resemble John Kerry trying to play cool with the youth vote, check out our Coll-Lexicon.


Butterface: noun, a girl with an attractive figure but somewhat hideous face; derived from “But her face!”


Creep: intransitive verb, (most commonly “to creep on”) to sketchily flirt


Dormcest: noun, to engage in a sexual relationship or encounter with a member of one’s dorm


Dumpster dive: verb, to troll about campus at the end of the semester looking for trinkets, furniture, etc. being disposed of by other students


Jungle juice: noun, a dangerous beverage comprised of multiple hard liquors and any combination of juices


Kill: transitive verb, (most commonly “to kill it”) to finish a supply of beverage or illegal substance


Rut: noun, (pronounced ROOT) a frequently used abbreviation of Beirut, an alternate name for Beer Pong


Sexile: transitive verb, to send one’s roommate from the dorm room in order to engage in sexual activity


T2: noun, campus police


Walk of Shame: noun, the walk from the room of a hookup to one’s own room after a sexual encounter (negative connotation)
