Fraternities and sororities across the US are getting involved in everything under the sun from inhumane hazing practices to cocaine dealing. As we continue to see these Greek tragedies gracing the front pages, university administrators are starting to raise eyebrows at Greek life on campus.
8. UC Berkeley Stabbing: Christopher Wootton, a 21-year-old nuclear engineering student, was stabbed and killed by Andrew Hoeft-Edenfield. Edenfield was a random Berkeley City College student who ended up involved in the brawl that started in the parking lot of the Chi Omega sorority house.
7. University of Colorado at Boulder Pledge Fiasco: Nine pledges of the Delta Chi fraternity got arrested after ransacking two motel rooms. The pledges racked up over $1,000 in damages, and tarnished the name of the Boulder chapter (the chapter is currently suspended).
6. Hofstra University Pistol Whipping: Danny Henderson and Adam Schelberg, members of ZBT (Zeta Beta Tau) were arrested on charges of assault, battery, and kidnapping after assisting a frat brother in the malicious attack on another fraternity brother suspected of dating his ex-girlfriend. The punishment went as far as pistol-whipping and forcing the brother to strip, leaving him stranded at the side of the road.
5. UC-Berkeley BB Gun Incident: One of Phi Kappa Phi's pledges was shot 30 times in the chest with a pellet gun. He was sent to the hospital to treat his injuries and the chapter was shut down.
4. San Diego State University Drug Bust: In the SDSU drug bust, the Theta Chi fraternity was suspected of selling cocaine. The investigation was roused after two students were diagnosed with cocaine over doses.
3. Frat Leaders Sentenced at the University of Texas-Austin: Will Evans and Austin Sherill were arrested on hazing charges after a pledge fell to his death during a frat party at the UT-Austin university towers.
2. Scalding at Tulane University: The Pikes (Pi Kappa Alpha) at the Tulane University decided it would be dandy for pledges to be burned with boiling hot water and pepper spray in the "Hell Week" initiation. 10 fraternity members face criminal charges for the heinous events during "Hell Week."
1. Hot Fork at Hofstra: The infamous "hot forkers" of Hofstra, Phi Epsilon, threatened Tina Holt and she went straight to the police. The pledge claimed she was abused and even branded by the Phi Epsilon sisters on "Hell Night."

Stumble It

In regards to the Berkeley Stabbing, Sigma Chi was not related to this incident in any way. The stabbing victim was a member of Sigma PI, and there was a brawl next to Chi Omega's house between the Sigma Pi folks and the Berkeley random guy.

Try using real sources for your information in the future instead of just looking at OTR articles from other schools.

I will make corrections to the facts where it is necessary. It is very easy to trivialize a serious situation, especially when you are not directly involved. I apologize if I made any of you feel like this post was mitigating the seriousness of these events.
