You might think otherwise initially, but it's actually pretty damn cool.

1) Profile filters - This is a perfect way to sort out the clutter of people’s application overloaded profiles. The “Wall” is now the newsfeed and the wall combining, there’s the “Profile, then photos, then “Boxes” (aka random applications) all neatly tucked away in one convenient location I never have to look at.

2) Newsfeed filters - Same principal which makes the front page more streamlined. You can sort by all news, status updates, new photos, or the live feed which literally catalogs minute by minute what all your friends are doing. Creepy, yet strangely fascinating.

3) Live editing - You no longer have to go to a specific editing page to change your profile info, you can literally do it right on the page. A very cool piece of technology.

4) Applications bar - Stores all your regular applications very neatly at the bottom of the screen, both normal ones like posted items and photos, but also all your “Pirates vs. Ninjas” ones so they’re not cluttering up the side of your screen like they used to.

5) They listened - The original “new” facebook was kind of a shitshow, half this good stuff was implemented wrong or not at all, and thanks to a flood of comments, they’ve actually managed to go through and fix most of the issues. Beta testing it as an option was a really smart idea, even though most of use avoided the changeover like the plague.

It’s a cornerstone of all our lives, and you would think a such a major transformation would be disruptive. But with the enormous amount of user feedback, Zuckerberg and Co. have made new Facebook a surprisingly good experience for all.
