If you’re anything like me, you’re probably broke until Thanksgiving break. I’m working with the theory that if I don’t ask for any money for the next two weeks that my parents, being so overwhelmed with joy upon my presence, will send me back up to Bing with a hefty sum of cash. Needless to say, two weeks in Binghamton with no money can seem mind-numbingly boring—maybe even borderline excruciating. So here are five ways to entertain yourself this weekend without spending your money on watered down drinks downtown.
1. Watch a movie! Okay, this is definitely an obvious one; but hey, we get like 5 HBO channels up here, and there have been some pretty decent movies on. Knocked Up and What Lies Beneath, my all-time favorite “scary” movie, has been on multiple times a day this week. Get some friends and make some popcorn. No matter what anyone says, these nights are never overrated. Bonus: If you’re fruitful enough to have some liquor lying around, take a shot every time Michelle Pfeifer says something ridiculously dramatic.
2. Ride the OCCT drunk bus back and forth from downtown all night. You’re bound to see something entertaining.
3. Late Night Binghamton. Yes, it may be lame, but again, if you have alcohol, it could get interested.
4. Friday night from 10-2, there’s a music competition in the New Union. Ladies, this is the perfect time to chat up that hot guy with the guitar you’ve been eyeing.
5. Hide and Seek. When all else fails, go back to simpler times. Get friends together, whether it be in the building, or a campus wide manhunt event.
