From Starbucks to Chick-fil-A: Get Your Free Stuff For Voting Today

If you don’t care about politics, you should probably just pretend today and vote anyway. Yes, it’s your duty as a citizen and yes, people will give you shit if you don’t, but most importantly, remember that voting today means a lot of freebies. What college student doesn’t love a good giveaway?

Here’s a rundown of the swag associated with Election Day (Hint: It's not all food):

Starbucks: The chain originally intended to offer a tall cup of coffee to anyone who voted on Election Day, but concerns arose that this promotion violated some election laws. So now Starbucks is giving the goods to anyone who requests it today.

Chick-fil-A: Bring in your “I voted” sticker and you could receive free chicken strips, sandwiches or milkshakes today. Which locations participates and what products they give away is up to the independent operators of the restaurant chain.

Ben and Jerry’s: Every customer at Ben and Jerry’s today will get a free scoop from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Once again election laws came into play to convince the company not to restrict the treats exclusively to voters, though they hope people will in fact honor their civic duty.

Krispy Kreme: The company is really getting into the election spirit by giving away star-shaped doughnuts with red, white and blue sprinkles to anyone who asks. All of Krispy Kreme’s company-owned stores will be participating as well as an unknown amount of its franchises and no voting stickers are required.

Shane’s Rib Shack: Vote early if you want some greasy grub to go with it. The first 300 voters at Shane’s two Washington locations get a free three-piece chicken tender meal.

California Tortilla: Taco Bell and Chipotle have already given away free Mexican food in the last week and now California Tortilla is joining in. The chain will give you a coupon for a free taco just for voting today.

Babeland: It’s not just free food for voters today… it’s free sex toys too. When you come into a Babeland store with your registration card, ballot stub or simply your “word of honor” that you voted you get a goodie: the “maverick” sleeve for men or the “silver bullet” mini-vibrator for women.
